UnderseaX Women Divers in Loreto
For Women Only
September 30 - October 7, 2018
$1655 per diver
Looking for an adventure that's far from ordinary, yet not far away?

Sea of Cortez diving is fascinating! The terrain consists of rocky bottoms, jutting walls, undercuts, overhangs, sprawling rocky reef systems and several wreck sites. Visibility ranges from 50 to 100 ft. Early October water temperatures are normally in the low to mid-80s F.

This is not your typical reef. Brilliantly colored sea fans, black coral and invertebrate life dot the rocky structures. Even the reef fish are different here: Pacific species that have evolved into distinct endemic varieties. The Sea of Cortez has long been known for its pods of dolphins and whales, sea turtles, and sea lion harems, and there is always the chance of seeing something big.

You'll stay in La Mision Loreto, a seaside hotel with a large pool, bars, and a restaurant, right in the center of the charming town and close to dive operator Dolphin Dive Baja.

Loreto is home to the first California mission and was once the capital of both Baja and Alta California. An excursion to visit the old mission as well as view cave petroglyphs in the desert will be included on the last day of your visit.

Come join trip leader Terra Lee and the women of UnderseaX for a fun and interesting fall scuba vacation!

Our Package Includes:

  • 7 nights at Hotel La Mision Loreto, double occupancy
  • 5 days of diving from pangas, including special excursions to the south end of Carmen Island and Danzante
  • Daily American breakfast: eggs, potatoes, fruit, and coffee
  • Light lunch on dive days during surface interval at offshore island beaches
  • Mission and mountains excursion
  • Tank and weightbelt rental
  • Transfers to/from airport on scheduled arrival and departure
  • Welcome cocktail and dinner
  • Farewell dinner

Not Included:
Airfare to Loreto, airport departure tax, rental equipment, meals and beverages other than noted above, tips and items of a personal nature.

Getting there :
Fly directly to Loreto (LTO) on Alaska Airlines from the U.S. via LAX. Alaska Airlines flight AS 268 departs LAX at 10:10 am on Sunday, September 30. Some West Coast divers can connect right through on Sunday morning; divers from other locations will need to fly to LAX and spend Saturday night, September 29, in Los Angeles.

Book your departure from Loreto on Sunday, October 7 on Alaska airlines flight AS 253 and connect to return home. Be sure to allow yourself time at LAX to pick up bags, clear customs and immigration, and clear security again for your connecting flight.

Deposit of $500 is due upon booking. Final balance due 75 days prior to departure.

If you are a diver traveling alone, we are happy to match you with a roommate. You'll make a new dive buddy, and you'll both save by paying only the double rate. Limited single supplements are also available if you prefer a room to yourself.

Along with the warm waters of fall comes the risk of a hurricane interrupting travel.
