David Bress has been scuba diving since 1986. In 1989 he founded Washington DC’s Lambda Divers, one of the oldest and most successful GLBT dive clubs in the world. David was also a founding board member of “Diving for Life”, a GLBT scuba charity that has donated several hundred thousand dollars to charities from Sydney to London. In addition to organizing trips all over the Caribbean, David has organized many successful gay scuba events in the past at Captain Don's Habitat on Bonaire.
David has also been active in the bear community. He was a charter member of The Chesapeake Bay Bears and wrote the appeal to the IRS which made that group the first 501(c) (3) charity of its kind. He was the first recipient of “American Bear Magazine’s” Community Service Award and held the title of Mr. Bear Pride 1996 winning the honor as the oldest of twenty-five contestants at the largest bear event of its time.
David and his partner Gary look forward to welcoming you to Cozumel, May 5-12, 2012!
